Label Illustration of a limited edition coffee for Berlin based Coffee Roastery August 63
THE CHALLENGE
I had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with August 63, a Berlin-based coffee roastery, to create the label for their limited-edition coffee featuring notes of chocolate, mulled wine, and caramel. Known for their beautifully illustrated labels, August 63 challenged me to design an illustration that would fit seamlessly into their established look while allowing my unique art style to shine through. My goal was to capture the essence of this special coffee: its warmth, indulgence, and festive flavor profile, through a visual narrative that felt both inviting and polished. This project was all about balancing their brand identity with my artistic voice to create something truly memorable.
How might we create an illustrated label for a limited-edition coffee that balances the established aesthetic of August 63 with my distinctive style?
THE OUTCOME
The label for August 63’s limited-edition coffee is a reflection of the blend’s unique character, combining festive warmth into a visually captivating design. Working closely with the roastery, I developed an illustration that visually recalls the rich notes of chocolate, mulled wine, and caramel in the coffee blend. The design creates a story that resonates with both the season and the senses. Limited to just 200 bags, the coffee will be available on August 63’s website and at select Berlin markets (like Markthalle Neun), offering a rare and artful coffee experience.
